A standard course highlighting the need for suitable application of the Cat & Genny in accordance with existing HSE requirements to avoid dangers associated with buried utilities.

The course aim is to have as much practical training as possible to encourage the positive outcomes of applied learning.

A training room will be required as there is as always a classroom element to compliment the learning outcomes but the trainees will benefit from as much hands on training as possible.

As with all of our courses each trainee will have a Locator each to learn with and all hardware is provided by ourselves.

A multiple choice test and summary is partaken at the end of the course.

Bespoke training can also be developed with this format for specific RAMS requirements or specific Detection methods.

This course is ideal for smaller companies, infrequent users, independent contractors or those wishing to top up their knowledge

Successful completion of the course will result in the trainee being issued an endorsed certificate valid for 3 years.

This CITB or NOCN Approved course adheres to the most recent CITB standards and has been designed to emphasise the importance of applying affective and correct application methods to increase productivity and safety. The course refers to the HSG47 guidance notes and reiterates the importance of using and reading plans and how to visually identify the presence of utilities and risks.

Manufacturers recommended application methods are taught along with relevant techniques that will be useful in the trainees specific work tasks.

It includes written and practical assessments, which will require the trainee to demonstrate they understand the importance of using Avoidance equipment correctly. Unlike most “Cat &Genny” training this course has two practical elements so that the trainees experience as much hand’s on training as possible. There is a practical assessment and a written assessment which need to be successfully completed to pass the course.

This course is ideal for inexperienced and experienced users.

The Trainee will receive a CITB endorsed certificate valid for 3 years or for an additional £35 per trainee a NOCN accredited certification will be issued.

This course entitles the customer to claim a £140 per trainee Short Course Grant.

The customers CITB Levy reference number will be required.

This course was developed for the CITB by a team lead by myself consisting of representatives from leading UK training providers and manufacturers of GPR. Its sole purpose is to educate those wanting to utilise GPR technology to aid and assist in detecting buried utilities for verification and avoidance. It is aimed at an intermediate level but may well benefit the more experienced alike. The training consists of basic RADAR theory and lots of hands on practical application and data interpretation.

The Training is delivered at the Leica Training School SY132AN and the equipment used will be Leica.

Upon completion the trainee will receive a CITB endorsed certificate.

The attendee must have a current and valid Detection of Buried Services EML certificate to be able to attend this course. We can assist in providing that training if required.
